Tree Planting and Stream Clean-Up

Spring Township Parks and Recreation Department and Sinking Spring Borough are teaming up with the Berks County Conservation District to plant over 800 trees on Saturday, May 12th, 2018. The trees were donated by PPL’s Community Roots Program. Volunteers are needed to help plant trees and clean up local streams to improve the health of the water we use in our homes every day.

Choose from two planting and stream clean-up locations:
1. Cacoosing Creek                                                       2. Wyomissing Creek
Meet at Breneman Park                                                 Meet at Kline’s Creek Park
Reedy Road, Spring Township                                      Gring’s Hill Road, Spring Township

Planting and Clean-Up Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Volunteers are asked to wear heavy boots for planting and/or waterproof boots for the stream clean up. Bring a pair of gloves, sunscreen and a reusable water bottle.

The Conservation District and planting sponsors will provide all other equipment and supplies including shovels, trash bags, extra gloves, drinking water and light breakfast snacks.
