Cartooning 101
Saturdays, September 28th – October 26th
Time:  12:00 – 1:00 pm
Location:  Yocum Institute for Arts Education
Cost:  $68.00 per person

Students will learn about the many different styles of cartooning (such as superhero, Disney, manga) and receive guided instruction on bringing them to life using their artistic abilities! Students are also welcome to bring their own drawings for guidance/refinement All materials are included. Space is limited – register now!

Native American Style Wooden Flutes
presented by Turtle Moon Native American Flute Circle
Sunday, September 29th
Time:  1 – 2:00 pm
Location:  Township of Spring Administration Building
Cost:  FREE
Learn the history and lore of Native American music and especially the most authentic instrument, the flute. Take this opportunity to learn to play the beginner scale on a flute as well as a simple Native American tune.  PVC flutes and other items will be available for purchase afterwards. Hay Ride Orchard Tour and Pick Your On Pumpkin

Thursday, October 3rd
Time:  10:00 am
Location:  Brecknock Orchard Rd. Mohnton
Cost:  $15.00 per person; children under 2 are free!

Hay Ride Orchard Tour – children will pick their own apple, pick their own pumpkin, snack on apple cider and pretzels, receive a goodie bag, and enjoy unlimited playtime in farm play area. Picnic tables available ? bring your own picnic lunch and enjoy your time together at Brecknock Orchard!  Register by 9/25/19

Wings Over Blue Marsh Lake

Join birding expert Katrina Knight to watch for the hawks, falcons and eagles that soar over Blue Marsh Lake’s scenic overlook situated above Stat Hill Boat Launch.  We’ll learn interesting facts about raptors, their travels and how to identify them as they soar by.  Bring binoculars.  Register by 10/7/19

 


Orienteering for Beginners

Orienteering is a fun and challenging sport for all ages. Join Ed Scott, DVOA, to learn to use a map and a compass to navigate a variety of terrains before venturing out to test your new skills on the bold beginner course. Register by 10/21/19.

 

 

Chemistry for Halloween!

Join the Penn State Berks Chemical Society for a spooky, fun and educational program that engages children in discovering chemistry. This is an innovative, hands-on opportunity for children to run simple (and possibly slimey) experiments and explore basic chemistry concepts perfect for Halloween surprises!


Kids and Cookies Baking Workshop
November 30th
Time:  10:00 – 11:30 am
Location:  Township of Spring Administration Building
Cost:  $12.00 per adult; children are free

Children and adults ae invited to attend this child-friendly baking class with Executive Chef Crystal Barto.  Crystal will demonstrate a variety of cookie recipes that children and adults will enjoy preparing together!  Enjoy sampling the delicious cookie creations!.  Space is limited – register by 11/25/19.
