Do You Live in the Wyomissing Watershed?
Date Published: June 9, 2015
The Wyomissing Creek is a small, but vitally important stream that flows through our community. The land that drains the rain water off the land into the Wyomissing Creek is called the Wyomissing Watershed. The Berks County Conservation District, in partnership with the Municipalities of West Reading, Reading, Spring, Shillington, Mohnton, Cumru, and Wyomissing are creating a plan that will identify areas that are important for the future improvements to the health of the Wyomissing Creek, called the Wyomissing Coldwater Conservation Plan.
What is a Coldwater Conservation Plan?
Because the Wyomissing Creek is able to support fish life, like trout, the Berks County Conservation District received funding from the Coldwater Heritage Partnership to compose a plan that will identify ways to help improve the Wyomissing Creek.
In order to make the plan as good as it can be, we need to hear from YOU! Your knowledge, concerns, questions, and comments about the Wyomissing Creek are important to the creation of this plan.
If you have any questions about the meeting please contact Kate O’Brien at the Berks County Conservation District at 610-372-4567
