Township of Spring 2015 Recycling Trash Schedule
Collection during Holidays has changed. Please refer to the attached Trash and Recycling Schedule for these changes.
A total of FOUR CONTAINERS (bags or cans) may be placed for the weekly collection. Each container shall not exceed 32-gallon capacity nor weigh more than 40 lbs. All loose items must be bundled not to exceed 18 inches by 18 inches by 36 inches. In addition, ONE BULK ITEM may be placed at the curb for collection each trash collection day. There will be NO SPRING AND FALL CLEAN UP.
Each trash collection day you will be allowed one bulk item, i.e. mattress and furniture etc or one additional trash container. The following items will not be picked up as a bulk item: NO APPLIANCES – washers, dryer, refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, heaters, dehumidifiers, air-conditioners, hot water heaters, propane tanks, batteries, automobile motors, transmissions, nor tires, etc. Paint cans may not contain paint in liquid form. Lawn mowers may NOT have fluids in them.

scanners, keyboards, mouses, speakers, cables etc.THESE ITEMS WILL BE LEFT AT THE CURB IF PLACED OUT

Recycling Collection
The Township of Spring is mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to conduct a recycling program. The Township of Spring provides the first container to each household. However, if your container is lost or destroyed another container can be purchased at the Township Business Office at a cost of $15.00. Collection of recycling is scheduled on an every-other week basis, according to the Township of Spring 2015 Recycling & Trash Schedule
We now do Single Stream Recycling, this means
your recyclables can be placed together in same bin.
- Glass: Clear, green, brown
- Steel and Aluminum Cans
- Plastic: All plastic in a bottled form, i.e. water, milk, soda, laundry and cleaning products (PETE + HDPE #1 thru # 7)
- Newspaper, Magazines, Catalogs, Junk Mail – Place these items in a brown paper bag. (NO PLASTIC BAGS)
- Cardboard: Must be bundled in lengths less than 18 in. x 18 in. x 24 in. Large Quantities of Cardboard – call (610) 678-5393.
Billing for recycling occurs annually in March, at a rate of
$40.00 per household billed on March Real Estate Tax Bill.
Holidays are as follows:
- New Year’s Day
- Good Friday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
In those weeks with a Holiday, collection of trash and recyclables will take place ONE DAY LATER THAN USUAL beginning
on the holiday through the remainder of the week. All collection schedules will return to normal beginning Monday of the next week.
