Recreation Program COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan

To protect the health and safety of our program participants, staff and instructors, the following guidelines have been developed and will be implemented in all Department programs:

 

  1. Department staff, instructors and participants will wear a face mask or covering.
  2. Department staff will perform a self-screen before arriving at the program site. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher will be sent home.
  3. Participant limits as established by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the PA Department of Health will be followed and enforced.
  4. Social distancing will be accommodated and enforced.
  5. Disposable masks, hand sanitizer and gloves will be available for all participants, staff and instructors.
  6. Hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette will be encouraged through signage and verbal reminders.
  7. Equipment will be sanitized prior to the start of the program/session and at the end of the program/session by Department staff.
  8. The sharing of equipment and supplies will be discouraged. If sharing is unavoidable, the equipment and supplies will be sanitized by Department staff between users.
  9. Participant supplies will be pre-packaged and sealed in plastic bags and labeled with the participant’s name. Participants will take everything in their bag and anything they create during the program home with them at the end of the day.
  10. Program participants will be required to “check-in” with Department staff upon arrival at the program site.
    1. Program participants will be “screened” by Department Staff:
      i. “No-Touch” temperatures will be taken by Department staff and anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher will be sent home.
      ii. A “COVID-19 Active Screening Questionnaire” will be completed by each participant or parent/legal guardian of participants under the age of 18.
    2. For Youth Programs where only the child is participating, parents are not permitted to exit their car or come into the program area. Department staff will escort the children to and from the “drop off area”.
  11. Participants will be encouraged to stay home if they are not feeling well. The Department will refund registration fees for those who miss a program/session due to illness.
  12. Any staff, instructor or participant exhibiting or reporting COVID symptoms will be sent home to contact their physician and cannot return without written permission from said physician.

Martial Arts Enrichment for Kids – #1977

Time:  6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Location:  Breneman Park
Cost:  $70.00 per person
Ages: 8 – 13

Join us at the park where kids will learn life skills such as leadership, courage, self-control and determination through Taekwondo. This class includes age-appropriate skill drills that will cover: stranger awareness, weapons training, board breaking, and lots of FUN! (Elite Leadership Academy T-Shirt included).

Watercolor by the Creek – #1978

Date:  Saturday, July 24, 2021

Location:  Cacoosing Meadows Park Pavilion
Cost $27.00 per person
Ages:  7 – 15

Come show off your creativity by the creek! Participants will receive a pre-sketched canvas and receive guided instruction into the wonderful world of watercolor painting!



YOUTH CAMPS

Eco-Explorers Science Camp

Location:  Cacoosing Meadows Park – State Hill Road Pavilion
Cost:  $56.00 per person
Ages:  8 – 12
Eco-Explorer Science Session I (#1984), June 14 – 17, and Eco-Explorer Science Session II (#1986), July 12 – 15, are exactly the same camp with exactly the same fun activities. Please choose the week that fits well into your summer schedule – Session I or Session II

This is a fun at the creek camp with hands-on topics including: creek creatures and creek health, worms and worm bins, solar study and solar ovens, insect, multi-legged creatures, polymers, science crafts and more.  Please bring water, a snack and water-wading shoes.

Sticks Fore Kids Golf Camp – #1989

Date:  Monday – Thursday, June 28, 2021 through July 1, 2021

Location:  Manor Golf Club
Cost:  $145.00 per person
Ages:  8 – 15
Registration deadline:  June 24, 2021

This camp gives kids the opportunity to learn about golf fundamentals such as stance, gripping, pitching, putting and swinging. Participants also learn golf safety, etiquette and discipline in a fun-oriented environment including games, contests, and awards!

 

World Traveler Camp – #1990

Date:  Tuesday – Friday, July 6 – 9, 2021
Time:  9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Location:  Colony Park
Cost:  $131.00 per person
Ages:  8 – 13

Travel the world within the Township limits this summer! Campers will learn about other cultures as they “take a tour” of the Middle East, India, Russia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Storytelling, games and crafts (all with a cultural twist) await!


Canvas Kids – Art Camp – #1991

Date:  Monday – Friday, July 12 – 16, 2021
Time:  9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Location:  Breneman Park Pavilion
Cost:  $190.00 per person

Send your youngsters to get CREATIVE at Art Camp where they will explore a different theme every day, including: Space & Galaxies, Ocean Creatures, Bugs & Creepy Crawlers, Magic & WizARTry, and Life on the Farm! Participants will take home 3 projects a day while learning new creative skills and having fun!

Soccer Camp – #1992

Refine your skills this summer at Soccer Camp with coach Colin Kent from Reading United! Campers will learn to enhance their dibbling, passing, shooting and other fundamentals through skills, challenges and some friendly competition! Players are encouraged to bring their own ball as a safety measure.

 

All Creature of Field, Forest and Stream Mini-Camp – #1993

Date:  Monday – Wednesday, July 26 – 28, 2021

Ages:  7 – 8

Does your child love nature? Are they curious about wildlife? Have they ever wondered what animals do day and night? This mini-camp provides a closer look at wildlife, their habitat, how animals build their homes and the food they must find to survive. Bring a drink, snack and shoes for water wading.

Come out to become a Nature Scene Investigator! Examine the evidence animals leave behind and uncover how animals live in the wild. Campers will investigate clues in nature at this mini-camp of sleuthing, investigation and discovery. Bring water, a snack, and water-wading shoes.
